习语（Idiom）是什么?

Idioms are expressions which have a meaning that is not obvious from individual words. 

习惯用语（idioms），简称习语，惯用语，是种固定的表达法，所以又叫做set phrases, 其真正意思往往不同于其组成部分的每个单词。

举个栗子，有这么一个习语drive somebody round the bend 表达的意思是让某人生气或者沮丧，但是我们可能无法从字面意思上去get到这个习语的意思。
